Daily Photo: Earth Child The World is Big

I shot this photo for an assignment in my Foundations of Professional Photography class.  The assignment was a scavenger hunt and one of the themes was “the world is big”.  This was shot at a park in Warrensburg Missouri called Cave Hollow with my Nikon D200 my daughter Erika was the model.

I’m going to be trying to do a daily photo for this blog from here on out.  Not necessarily a photo I shot that day but at least one image a day of something I’ve shot recently.  I will also likely use the daily photo updates to talk about photography, art, and other things I have going on.  I detest blogging about a lot of personal things and reading blogs with nothing but personal opinion/bitching so I promise to at least provide some visual content with every post.

Alexiss’s Photo Shoot

I worked at my family portrait studio in Warsaw Missouri for the past 7 years and I’ve shot on quite a few senior shoots but since I started school at UCM this fall I haven’t done any pro photo shoots.  I finally got a chance to do a senior type shoot a couple weeks ago for Alexiss who was a freshman at UCM but hadn’t had senior pictures done because she was home schooled.  Our families have know each other for several years and so it was great to be able to do a shoot for friends.

I think the shoot went great.  Alexiss is a great model with a lot of personality and she had a good time at the shoot.  It was nice to break away from my semester assignments and just take pictures.
